St Charles Borromeo [m]

Rom 11:29-36, Ps 69, Luke 14:12-14

Charles Borromeo [1538-84]: Lay administrator in the Church as a student, Secretary for the papal states, ordained a priest at 25 years of age, soon consecrated Archbishop of Milan, reformer of the clergy following the Council of Trent, servant of the poor, the sick and the dying. Charles lived out the words of today’s Gospel. With St Paul he had tasted the riches and the depths of God, and he gave all he was and possessed to serve the needy People of God.
