An unexpected call

Reflecting on the way Jesus recruited His first four disciples is an insight into the way in which He calls us too. The brothers were in the fishing business together, and on this particular day, they were not doing well at all. In their disappointment they could have ignored Jesus, or said “What does He know about fishing?” However, they did as He instructed, and were rewarded not only with a large catch of fish but also with the inestimable prize of a personal relationship with Jesus. From one insignificant bad fishing day, a whole new existence opened up for them.
