Ruth 1:1,3-6,14-16,22, Ps.146,
Matthew 22:34-40

Your people shall be my people,
your God, my God

Ruth, along with three others, is a gentile woman in Jesus’ genealogy. She says those wonderful words ‘wherever you go, I will go, wherever you live, I will live. Your people shall be my people, your God, my God.’ Mary and the church are our mother. At baptism Ruth’s words become our own. Naomi guided Ruth toward Boaz. Mary and the church lead us to Jesus. The more we let Jesus love us, the more we long to share Jesus with others through our life, our testimony and even with our words, with the constant help of the Holy Spirit.
