Clenched fists or open hands?

Our instincts grasp possessions, pride and power. The Jewish Talmud speaks of our entering life with clenched fists and our challenge to leave with open hands. God invites us to love and wants to share his very life with us. Yet we’re given freedom to choose self-absorption if we want it. Humanly I’m tempted to grab and not let go. Jesus calls us to live with open hands, loving more deeply with each choice, becoming more like him. Talk to God about what challenges you most in choosing love.
