God longs to be at home with us

Tents were ‘home’ for the Israelites. God asked for a ‘tent of meeting’, to be at home with his people. God makes us his ‘tent of meeting’ at baptism. Like Mary we became a living ark of God’s presence. God meets us there in mercy, put simply, ‘God longs to be at home with us’. As Merton said, ‘now I realize what we all are… There is no way of telling people that they are all walking around shining like the sun.’ The readings invite us to ponder that truth, attentive to God in every part of our day.
