Seamless love

Fasting may make us better disciples, it may not. It depends on how much love of God there is in it. When love comes to perfection there is no need to fast. Jesus is that perfection and so he tells us about perfect love and how to receive it. As we perfect our love we realize that there is something new about our personhood that rips away painfully from the old. Nurturing and preserving this newness for the kingdom whilst remaining faithful to the Church can be experienced as difficult. Grace and love make it possible.
