Reaching out

Under pressure of persecution the disciples spread out over the countryside and started the work of converting the whole world. But the apostles stayed behind and braved the house-to house persecution, apparently successfully. They never lost sight of Jesus’ statement in today’s gospel that anyone who believed in him would have eternal life. Do we understand that essential truth? Lord, help us to see you clearly.
