Annunciation of the Lord

Isaiah 7:10-14, 8:10, Ps 40, Hebrews 10:4-10, Luke 1:26-38

Obedience

God chose the time and place and person to fulfil his promise of a saviour. But put yourself in the mind of the simple country girl faced with an angel telling you impossible things. Mary proved she was the right person by simply saying “yes”. If we are listening, we hear the Holy Spirit asking us to do impossible things, too. Do we say “yes” as Mary did?

Lord, help me to listen and obey.
