A word of testimony

Psalm 116 is the favourite psalm and testimony of a dear elderly friend who plumbed the depths of this psalm when he was a fighter pilot during the war. “Death stared me in the face,” he says, quoting the psalm. “Up against it, I didn’t know which way to turn; then I called out to God for help … When I was at the end of my rope, he saved me” (vv. 3,4,6, The Message). Now he declares, “I love the LORD … for he heard my cry for mercy”. May this also be your testimony today.
