THIRD SUNDAY OF LENT

Psalm 103:13-22 , 1 Cor 10:1-12 Exodus 3:1-15, Luke 13:1-9

From everlasting to everlasting

The mystery of sovereignty and the miracle of grace mingle together here. The compassionate God stands in sharp contrast to his sinful creatures. As flawed and failing people of dust, we fall far short of God’s standards, yet he does not treat us as our sins deserve. To those who turn to him, God removes our sin “as far as the east is from the west” (v. 12). We who stand on ‘this side’ of the cross of Jesus, know that God is indeed as the psalmist describes him. Today let us kneel before him in worship.
