The Messiah’s reign is gentle and compassionate
Isn’t it great to look forward to a holiday, a trip or the visit of a friend? The Jews looked forward to the coming of the Messiah and this coming brought them great happiness. The Messiah was to usher in an era of justice and peace. His reign was to be characterised by compassion for the weak and the poor. The images given by Isaiah provide us with many a paradox – “the wolf lives with the lamb.” What can I do to help bring this gentle reign of Christ to the world about me?
