Don’t panic

Biblical scholars are divided about whether these predictions apply to the end of Jerusalem or to the end of the world. Even if there are two events that Jesus is speaking of, the content is scary. But they end with the calming assurance that we are not to look down or even inward, but “look up, raise your heads”

Think back to Daniel in the lion’s den right through to modern saints. They all found hidden stores of courage and confidence not their own to draw on. Lord, when the test comes, give me confidence in you.
