ST ELIZABETH OF HUNGARY

Psalm 112, 3 John 5-8, Luke 18:1-8

Fair go

Impartiality is hard to achieve. Even judges can be swayed, in this case by a nagging woman. He fears for his own skin more than meting out justice. Accountability and transparency may mean that decision-makers are frightened into inaction or handing down flawed judgements. As a father and teacher I have found this especially difficult. But, if we “cry to God day and night, He will vindicate us.” This may not satisfy those around us, but will testify to a loving and just Father. Lord, help me to make just and fair decisions, as you guide me.
