Love and law

“Come and be healed on one of those (other) days and not on the Sabbath” must surely be one of the most inane utterances in the Bible! That’s what happens when love is separated from the Law. Love and Law are inseparable. Without Love the Law is an empty shell. When faced with any moral decision we should always ask “What does love require me to do?” It will produce the same answer as “What would Jesus do?”. As St Augustine said “Love, and do what thou wilt”.
