Bucket list?

The “Bucket List” movie, the book “100 Things to do Before you Die”, and the adage “You’re a long time dead”, all suggest that when reflecting on our mortality we should focus on self satisfaction, self achievement and as many pleasurable experiences as we can pack in to our remaining lifespan. The Christian response to our limited lifespan, however, is not to ask “What do I want to do in the year’s I have left?”, but “What does God want me to do/achieve”. Only then, when the big day arrives, will I be “ready” for the Master.
