Our fears

One of Our Lord’s most frequent statements was “Do not be afraid”. It occurs twice in today’s Gospel. Most of us live with fears, both conscious and subconscious. But Jesus tells us that God loves, cares for each of us individually, that we should trust in his loving providence, that ultimately nothing that happens to our bodies can harm us in a way which really matters. All we need to worry about is the welfare of our souls, and to fear only anyone, or anything, that might harm us spiritually.
