Deliverance from evil

Casting out devils and unclean spirits are not part of our modern day life experience. But our modern medical and scientific knowledge is limited to the natural, material world. The supernatural world, inaccessible to natural science, is largely a mystery to us, but there are real forces at work there which can affect us. St Paul warns us: “For it is not against human enemies that we have to struggle, but always against the principalities and the ruling forces who are masters of the darkness in this world, the spirits of evil in the heavens” (Ephesians 6:12).

Lord, deliver us from evil.
