Sacred Heart

1 Hosea 11: 1, 3-4, 8-9; 2 Ephesians 3: 8-12, 14-19, Canticle Isaiah; John: 19: 31-37

“One of the soldiers pierced his side with a lance”

Icons of the Sacred Heart show the open wound of Christ’s heart exposed from its covering of flesh. It is open for us all as a symbol of his great love, so we may seek refuge within it.

Lord, may we open our hearts to you. May we listen with our ears open to love, see through the eyes of love and speak always from loving hearts. Amen.
