Corpus Christi

1 Exodus 24:3-8; 2 .Hebrews 9: 11-15; Ps 116B; Mark 14 12-16, 22-26

“This is my body ... this is my blood”

The solemnity of Corpus Christi reminds us of Christ’s promises at the Last Supper, which was held during the Passover. The Passover feast, celebrated with bread and wine, commemorates God’s Covenant that promised the Jews deliverance from slavery. The Last Supper extends this with Christ’s Covenant that frees us from the slavery of sin and death.

Lord, by your holy cross you have redeemed the world.
