Select your thoughts

Mine is a ‘monkey-mind’: thoughts leap around in an uncontrollable frenzy.

Regrets, ‘to-do’ lists, ‘what-ifs’, past conversations, future plans, decisions.

I need to select my thoughts. Edit some. Action others.

Acknowledge some and then set them aside on the altar of my heart.

Actively listen to them. Perhaps treat them with ‘tough-love’,

or settle on a time to deal with this thought alone.

I need to select my thoughts.

I will not let them monopolise my life.

Nor allow them to destroy relationships.

I will not let renegade thoughts tear the veil, in this temple of divine Love.
