The Chair of Judgement

“Pilate seated himself on the chair of judgment.” Pilate’s inclination was to set Jesus free but instead, he went with the crowd. The judge too was judged that day. Ultimately, it is our own behaviour that sentences all of us. Do I really grasp how great is my need for God’s mercy and forgiveness? Seating myself on the chair of judgment, I look to Jesus to speak for me, ask him to release me from my sin.
