Be compassionate

A friend once told me that what we most dislike in others are the things that we cannot accept in ourselves. He also said that that the judgments and criticisms we make of others are still more pleasant than the way we judge and criticise ourselves. My life experience confirms this view.

Today look at yourself in the mirror. Notice every spot and dot, stray hair and stubble, wrinkle and wart. Get under your skin. Choose one of your self-critical demons. Smile. Be absolutely generous and compassionate to you as God is.
