Isaiah 58: 9-14; Psalm 86; Luke 5: 27-32

The Lord’s Day each week.

With the prophet Isaiah I pray to delight in the Lord. I will keep his Sunday holy. I will put aside my interests to worship him in his temple, St Mary’s church. I derive strength from the faithful, prayerful people around me as I raise my voice in praising song, and offer my gifts for consecration. I am overwhelmed when Jesus communes with me. My Holy Mass has value when I am active in caring for the needs of others. Self-affliction is not good in itself: feeding the hungry is.
