1 Kings 11:29-32, 12:19; Psalm 81;
Mark 7:31-37.

When Solomon no longer kept covenant with God, his kingdom was divided. Perhaps it is part of our wounded nature that we are prone to rebel, even against God. But God sent his Son into the world that we might be reconciled to him. When have I rebelled against God? What happened? What pattern of sin do I cling to still? How did I make my way back to him? How did I experience his mercy and forgiveness? I may turn away from God, but God will never turn away from me. Take me as I am, Lord.
