Respect others’ needs

Mark’s Gospel shows two completely different sides of Jesus: the Divine preacher whose followers could not bear to leave Him – not even for long enough for Him to have a meal; and the family member, whose relatives were concerned for both His sanity and safety. It is so easy to overwhelm those we admire with our attention, and to misunderstand those we love the most. Let us pray today that we will be able to love and serve those around us with respect for their needs, and recognise God within them.
