Baptism Of The Lord

Reborn in Baptism

We are taught the Sacrament of Baptism is necessary for the remission of sins, particularly original sin. Given this teaching, why was Christ baptized? Christ’s baptism marks the beginning of His ministry - the work His father had set for Him. It also marks the beginning of an opportunity for us to become reborn in God, and to find our way with the help of the Holy Spirit to God’s Kingdom. “Come Holy Spirit fill the hearts of the faithful; And kindle in them the fire of Your love.”
