Intimate knowledge

Today’s gospel completes Jesus’ words to the seventy, who have returned joyful about their fruitful missionary journey, only to be told by Jesus that the true reason for rejoicing is in their relationship with God. Here Jesus expresses the joy in relationship with the Father that is his preeminently. And nobody, he says, knows ‘who the Father is except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.’ Such knowledge is not intellectual, but the intimate knowledge given by being in relationship. What do I need to do to deepen my intimate knowledge of God?
