Romans 8:22-27, Ps.105, John 15:1-8

Cutting back to good buds

Even the saints need pruning in order to be great saints. St. Teresa is a Doctor of the Church. Imagine how much that pruning hurt her ideas and opinions and how much fortitude and love for God she must have had to keep on being holy. Today is a day to look at how willing we are to be pruned by God to make our friendship with him deeper. Refinement of my good works, turning away from sin and finding out what I do best for the kingdom is what hurtful pruning is about.
