Broken Resolutions

Oh how today’s Gospel reminds me of my broken resolutions! Not the New Year’s kind, but the decisions made during Mass or during prayer time that I will do this or that, or change this or that, but which, within a few days have become buried and forgotten in the distractions and minutiae of my seemingly more important daily activities. Mea culpa! Definitely not a case of “it’s the thought that counts”.
