St Bartholomew Apostle

Apocalypse 21:9-14, Ps. 145, John 1:45-51

Faithful follower

Jesus chose the Twelve to live and learn from him and to bring the good news to all the earth. Bartholomew was one of the twelve. He is probably the one identified as Nathaniel whom Jesus saw under the fig tree and who was invited by Philip to follow Jesus. Bartholomew is said to have preached the gospel in India and to have been martyred there. We too are invited to be followers of Jesus and to bring the good news to people everywhere. We can do this by the way we live our lives. We are called to become the living words of good news.

How do I relate to the people in my life at home and at work? Am I a bearer of the good news?
