Intimacy

It’s a challenge to get to know ourselves for we fear we may not like what we would find when we look within. It’s often easier to look at the lives of others and make judgments about them because doing so can keep us from looking into ourselves. Yet we need not be afraid of reflection and self discovery because our God is a God who knows us intimately from the moment of our conception. God knows us inside out and loves us just as we are. It’s hard to realize this intimacy of God and we may say with the psalmist “Too wonderful for me, this knowledge, too high, beyond my reach.”

Today let us spend some time with ourselves in the presence of God.
