Love

Ruth showed love in action when she chose to leave her own land and her own people to follow the God of her mother-in-law Naomi. “Wherever you go, I will go, wherever you live, I will live. Your people shall be my people and your God, my God.”

Jesus speaks of this kind of love when he tells us to “love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind” and to “love your neighbour as yourself.” This is the essence and sum total of God’s command for us.

Teach me your paths, my God, and lead me in your truth.
