Transfiguration of the Lord

Daniel 7:9-10,13-14, Ps. 97, 2 Peter 1:16-19, Matthew 17:1-9

Light in the darkness

The way can become difficult. Obstacles may lie on our path and we can become discouraged. Shadows fall across our path and we loose our perspective. When the early followers of Jesus became disheartened and disoriented Jesus knew they needed some kind of encouragement and support. Jesus took Peter, James and John onto a high mountain and in their presence became transfigured. When his glorified presence became too much for the disciples Jesus himself touched them and said “Stand up. Do not be afraid.”

Where in my life do I need the touch of Jesus?
