No time for dallying

The Exodus of the people of Israel is much more than one event among many for them – it was the greatest moment in their history, and made them a new people. It is the equivalent to the Resurrection for Christians. It is endlessly celebrated, and the Jewish word for ‘memorial’ means God-saved-us-then-and-is-still-saving-us-now. Exactly the same idea as the Eucharistic Memorial – Do this in memory of me.
