The Immaculate Heart of Mary

Isaiah 61:9-11, 1 Sam 2:1,4-8,
Luke 2:41-51

Like a bride adorned
with jewels

This feast of Mary is an echo of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. She was chosen by God for a special role, needing her heartfelt consent, and indeed claiming every fibre of her being. She persevered to the end and brought her yes unwavering to Calvary. “Son, why have you done this to us?” was a cry from the darkness, a hint of more to come. I ask Mary for constancy in times of darkness.
