Come Holy Spirit

St Paul tells us that the spirit works in all sorts of different ways in different people. Sometimes it is easy to recognize the working of the Spirit, sometimes it is more difficult. The Spirit’s gifts are all necessary to build God’s kingdom but they may appear challenging, awkward, and unattractive, and the temptation is to reject or ignore people with such gifts. The prophets must have been people like this, and look what happened to them! Lord, open our eyes to see your Spirit at work in all these different ways, and to support and affirm all who work for your glory.
