Never Alone
Jesus never promised we would not have troubles, nor that we would not be fearful and bewildered. Like so many others, living in a Christchurch still racked by aftershocks, with no certainty about the fate of my home, I am very conscious of the truth of this. But it is at such times that one may also experience the reality of what Jesus speaks of in today’s gospel, the constant presence of God, which means that no follower of Jesus is ever truly alone.
