Our loving Father

Sometimes we tend to think of a stern and demanding God and a gentle Jesus. In this passage Jesus makes it quite clear that God is not like that. God is a loving father whom we can approach with complete confidence, knowing our prayers will be heard and answered in the way that is best for us – even if sometimes the answer is ‘no’ or ‘not yet’. We can bring our needs to God today, each one of us, and be at peace in the certainty that we are loved and listened to.
