True joy

It is a very beautiful analogy Jesus uses today, a woman in childbirth. Certainly any mother will respond instantly, this is something we recognize from our own experience; no matter how tiring the pregnancy, how hard the birth, nothing can compare with the joy of holding a newborn child in ones arms.

In the same way, the martyrs forget their agony in the glory of heaven. Let’s pray for all new mothers today, for those awaiting the birth, and especially for any who are tempted to destroy the new life they carry.
