Mary Help of Christians

Mary is presented today as sharing the pain of another, in this case, her Son. This Mary is a great image for Kiwis with our tradition of running a plate around to a bereaved family, going on search and rescue, giving a helping hand in all sorts of ways, before being asked and with as little fuss as possible. Mary Help of Christians encourages us to combine prayer with deeds of compassion.
