Acts 13:13-25; Ps 89; John 13:16-20

The boy David won God’s favour because he was “a man after God’s own heart.” In our Gospel, we hear that happiness will be ours if we behave as if “no servant is greater than his/her master.” The heart of Jesus, the heart that truly pleases God, is captured in the image of one freely lowering him/herself to wash and dry very dirty feet.
