Sunday 8 May

3rd Sunday of Easter

Acts 2:14, 22-33; Ps 16; 1Peter 1:17-21; Luke 24:13-35

On the road to Emmaus, two disciples mistakenly presume that they know a whole lot more than the stranger beside them! Jesus, nonetheless, listens attentively, without interruption, hearing them out to the end. At the right moment, Jesus then integrates the Scriptures with their lost hopes to give them a newfound faith for the future! Jesus respected them, honoured their journey to date, and then enabled them to recognize a future, brightened by faith. Once again, Jesus gives us an example to follow.
