Watching and waiting

My family is enthralled with the monarch butterfly. Tiny eggs hidden under the leaves of the swan plant. The frenetic activity of the caterpillar. Their total retreat into the dark of the chrysalis. Silence.

We know that this is not the end. We wait with expectant hearts for beauty to be revealed. Good Friday holds that promise.

The Incarnation.
The years of frenetic public ministry.
Then the tomb. Silence.

As Christians, we can wait with expectant, knowing hearts. For Jesus did rise from the dead. Transformed. Let us wait with knowing hearts, for God’s beauty to be revealed each day.
