O Lord hear my prayer

“Accept me, my Lord, accept me for this while.” writes Tagore.

Accept me, now, when I am frustrated, as were the Israelites in the desert.
Accept me, now, when I am distressed, as the psalmist was.
Accept me, now, when I cannot understand, as the Jews failed to understand Jesus’ ministry.
Accept me, now, when I do not recognise you, like the Jews when they asked, “Who are you?”
Accept me, now, trying to know you, trying to pray.
