Exodus 32:7-14, Ps 106, John 5:31-47

Turn me back to you, Lord

The Israelites built a calf of molten metal. What idols do I build?
A too-busy lifestyle?
A need for success?
A wall to preserve my ‘personal space’?

Moses took time to plead with God on their behalf. God heard him. Let’s take time to empty our world of the distractions of our own making and ask God, in the words of Ted Loder, to, “Catch me in my aimless scurrying, Lord, and hold me in this Lenten season, hold my heart to the beat of your grace, and create in me a resting place, a kneeling place, a tip-toe place.”
