The new Provincial of the Society of Mary in Oceania as from 1 January this year is Fr Setefano Mataele sm, who is from Tonga. His deputy is Fr Susitino Sionepoe sm, from Wallis-Futuna. Fr Setefano took over the provincialate from Fr Bernard (Ben) McKenna sm, an Australian from Tasmania, who is now a member of the Society’s General Administration in Rome

The Marist Messenger office has moved from the Marist Centre building, at 88 Hobson St, Wellington, to the newly- refurbished Pā Maria Marist Spirituality Centre, at 78 Hobson St. The MM was based at 88 Hobson St since the beginning of 1982.
