MM BriefsThe Society of Mary is accepting donations to alleviate people’s suffering in Fiji and help them rebuild their lives after the destruction caused by cyclone Winston.

One of the areas hit badly was Tutu, the rural training centre in Tavenui, where 22 buildings have either been partially or completely destroyed.

Tutu offers five courses catering for young farmers, married couples, young single women, and new parents.

“The urgent needs (for Tutu) are $125,000 for building materials, and food for 25 families and 72 course participants,” says Marist Fr Pio Fong Waqavotuwale.

If you wish to help please contact Fr Timothy Duckworth, the SMNZ bursar, by emailing him (duckworth@smnz.org.nz).

100% of donations will be sent to the Society of Mary mission in Fiji and administration costs will be met entirely by SMNZ.   Donations are tax-deductible.
