A STORY FROM HUI ARANGA 2008 by Piripi Cody sm
June 1st, 2008 filed under Articles.

Wake up, wake up! The taonga have arrived! We need to bless them”. This message rather abruptly woke me from a deep sleep about 1:40am on Easter Monday morning. Boy Thomson, one of the elders or kaumatua of the Nga Karere Wellington Cultural Club had shaken me awake. As I had only got to bed about midnight after watching the seniors perform, it was all rather a shock. However, it was to teach me clearly what the Hui Aranga was all about. Read more »

Marist Messenger
This Month's Prayer

Daily Reflections

Tuesday 7 September 2010
1 Cor. 6:1-11; Ps.149; Luke 6:12- 19

Jesus came with them
Jesus has spent a night praying in the hills. He chooses and names twelve apostles. In the hearts of the Twelve, there is a gradual awareness of being called, drawn deeper into Jesus companionship and mission which began at the lakeside. Now, they become more ready to leave all, in order to be with Jesus. Imagine Jesus inviting you to be with him, as you live your life. How does he invite you? How do you respond? Pray slowly: Loving Lord, may I see you more clearly, love you more dearly, follow you more nearly day by day.
